Mader Electric Partners with a CoolBLUE Distributor

There is a lot to know when it comes to motors, pumps, and control panels, especially with all the new technology and AI intelligence. At various times during the year, we have vendors and partners who help us offer educational, training classes, right here for our customers at Mader Electric. One of our training classes covered the benefits of installing CoolBLUE.

An in-depth review of variable frequency drives (VFDs) and electrical harmonics is found on i-SCOOP. "Variable frequency drives (VFDs) are increasingly integrated into industrial IoT and critical power environments. Research indicates that the VFD market is growing due to ongoing industrialization and urbanization while drives get 'smarter'." Using VFDs, electrical harmonics can lead to problems.

CoolBLUE is specifically designed to reduce the harmonics that VFDs put out, which can cause bearing failures and sensor failures out on the plant floor. Production can be reduced or completely halted.

Understanding Electrical Harmonics and the Damaging Effects

As explained by i-SCOOP, "a harmonic current is a frequency that is different from the fundamental frequency in an electrical network -." As we know, harmonics distorts the fundamental frequency waveform with damaging effects.

CoolBLUE "chokes"  - "bearing fluting, frosting, breakdown of lubrication, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and motor bearing failure." The damaging current is soaked up "before it gets to the motor." See how CoolBLUE "can reduce or eliminate motor bearing damage in VFD motors."

As you will find on the CoolBLUE FAQ page, you don't have to worry about maintenance or changing the product out. They can be used in outside equipment. "CoolBLUE never has to be replaced because it is not a mechanical device, prone to wear, such as a shaft brush."
